THE AQUALANDIA MUNDOMAR FOUNDATION CAMPAIGN

"1 KG = 1 SMILE"

The Aqualandia-Mundomar Foundation in collaboration with the Welfare Department from Benidorm Town Hall launched a charity campaign this morning aptly named "1kg = 1 smile."

The initiative aims to collect food for disadvantaged families in the area for Christmas 2011.1kg1sonrisa

A press conference was held in Mundomar with Cristina Escoda, the Welfare Councilor for the City of Alicante and a spokesman from the Benidorm park. The aim is to collect as much food as possible to help families who are going through a difficult period.

The campaign starts on Saturday 17th of December and will run all weekend. Anyone who would like to make a donation may do so at the entrance to Mundomar, where an area will be available to deposit your donations. Once the campaign is completed, all the food will be stored in the park until the Red Cross and Caritas staff come to pick it up. Both of these organizations will be responsible for the distribution of the donated food to the families who need it most.

Benidorm is always very supportive in campaigns such as this one, and Mundomar would like to thank all of those who make a donation to "1 kg = 1 smile" by giving away a free child entrance ticket to visit the park during this magical time of year.

Hopefully with your help we will achieve our goal and see a smile on the lips of those who need it most.

The campaign "1 kg, 1 smile" is ONLY part of a number of events that the foundation will  participate in this Christmas. Last weekend they took part in the Market in the Calle Alameda which was organized by the Commission for the Benidorm Fiestas. The foundation “sold” hand made decorations for a donation; these decorations were hand made by staff from the park. All the money raised went to the Foundation.

The foundation will also take part in the Christmas Market due to commence on Saturday 17th of December until the 4th of January which is organized by the Benidorm Town Hall. The initiative similar to the one in the Calle Alameda will also contribute to the charitable objectives of the foundation.

This time of year is magical and important for young children and the foundation will visit children in the Pediatric ward of the local hospital in Villajoyosa on Tuesday 20th of December.
