Benidorm has been the backdrop for many advertising campaigns, TV Series and short films and now it will appear in a Bollywood film titled “Mister” which will be produced by Lakshmi Narasimha .

The Indian Film Industry affectionately known as Bollywood is the largest film producer in the world according to a UNESCO report from 2013. During that year the Indian Film Industry produced 1203 films compared to the 757 filmed in the United States during the same period.

This is not the first time that Bollywood have filmed in Spain. The famous San Fermin Fiestas Bull Run in Pamplona, the also famous “Tomatina” festival in Buñol and a typical Andalucian Village where all shown in the Film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ ,You only live once in English.

Just last month on the 25th of June, the Indian Film Industry held their “Oscar” awards ceremony in Madrid which was televised to over 800 million spectators.

The film’s producers will convert the Benidorm castle view point into the backdrop for a musical videoclip with the colourful Bollywood choreography.

They also plan to film in various streets in the old town and from the rooftop of the Hotel Poseidon over a three-day period from the 18th to the 20th of July.
