Benidorm has a variety of activities to choose from with something for all age groupsCultural excursions, adventure tours, sporting activities, theme parks, attractions,  shows and boat trips.   There are various boat trips available during the summer and winter seasons which form part of the wide range of excursions on sale from this web site.

Three boat trips operate from Benidorm, one to Benidorm Island, another along the coast to Calpe and the third, a visit to the Island of Tabarca located just off the coast of Alicante.  You choose.

You can take the short trip to the island and contemplate the extraordinary views of the Benidorm coastline.  Spend the day in Calpe, enjoy paella or fresh fish in the many fish restaurants, explore the old town or laze on Calpe fine sandy beach.  If you feel energetic you can follow the path to the top of the Peñon, or take the trip to Tabarca and spend the day enjoying the beaches and exploring the island.calpe playa paseo

The boat trip to Benidorm Island or the Journalists island as it is also called takes about 20 to 25 minutes each way.   The island is uninhabited, is only two and a half nautical miles from the coast and can be explored on foot.  It is a marine reserve because of the important ecological value of the plants, birds and marine life in the area.   You can find predators such as the Dentex, Amberjack, Barracuda and Sea Bream as well moray eels and octopus that use the rocky base of the island as a refuge.

There are also some protected bird species that make their nests in the crevices of the cliffs for example the Audouin Gull and the Cormorant.

Boats depart hourly from the port of Benidorm from 10:00 am and during high season : June, July and August they also depart from the Rincon de Loix.  The times of the last departure depends on the season and weather conditions.  Explore the island in your own time and return on any one of the boats returning to the mainland.   Once you arrive at the island you can see the underwater views and marine life from the glass bottom section of the boat.  If you are travelling on the smaller boat the Isla de Benidorm then once on the island you change to the small yellow Aquascope to view the fish around the island.  If you travel on the larger boat, a spiral staircase will take you to the lower part of the boat where the viewing area is located.    The island has a bar and restaurant to cater for visitors.

The Mini Coastal Cruise to Calpe takes the route along the coast, passing the villages of Albir, Altea  and on to Calpe.  You will pass the sheer cliffs of the Sierra Helada Mountain nature park and  see the watch tower which once protected the coast from pirate attacks.

The famous Peñon de Ifach is the signal that you are approaching Calpe.  This famous rock is probably the most protected area of the Costa Blanca and has been used in promotional campaigns for the Valencian Community.  The journey takes approximately one hour each way.

Tabarca is the only inhabited island on the Costa Blanca and is located just off the coast of Alicante.  There are two options available depending on the time of year.  The first option visits Tabarca and Alicante.  Stopping in the port of Alicante close to the shops the trip gives you free time in Tabarca and free time in Alicante to do some shopping. Visit St Paul's Church, The Governors house, St Joseph's tower and the lighthouse.  The second option  (high season) stops in Campello just to pick up more passengers, then on to Tabarca giving you all the free time on the island.   Journey time is approx one hour and fifteen minutes from Benidorm to Tabarca.TABARCA.Calle
