Northern Soul has never been just about music. It’s about movement, memory, and belonging — a culture built on shared discovery and lifelong devotion. On 1–2 March 2026, that culture takes over Benidorm Palace with a Northern Soul and Motown Party that promises wall-to-wall quality, from mid-afternoon warm-ups to after-midnight anthems.
This is a weekend designed by people who understand the rhythm of a proper soul event: slow builds, emotional peaks, live moments, and DJs who know exactly when to drop that record.
Sunday: DJs, Orchestra, and All the Right Feels
Sunday’s action begins at 3pm, with a carefully paced sequence of DJs easing dancers onto the floor. Across the afternoon and early evening, familiar names rotate behind the decks, creating a steady narrative rather than a rushed sprint. The flow is deliberate — each set handing the mood to the next, just as Northern Soul has always demanded.
The evening reaches a high point with Russ Winstanley, whose reputation needs little introduction. A true architect of the scene, his set is less about nostalgia and more about connection — reminding the crowd why these records still matter.
From 8.30pm, the spotlight shifts to the Northern Soul Classics Orchestra. Live instrumentation adds new depth to dancefloor staples, expanding the sound without diluting its soul. A short charity auction interval follows, supporting Save My Life Animal Charity, before the orchestra returns to carry the night forward.
As midnight approaches, late-night DJs keep the floor alive until 1am — no filler, no compromise, just proper Northern Soul.
Monday: Live Performance Takes Centre Stage
Monday’s programme continues the story rather than resetting it. Afternoon sets keep the energy social and relaxed, building naturally into a long early-evening stretch designed for serious dancers.
Once again, Russ Winstanley anchors the night before the event’s live centrepiece: Northern Live – Do I Love You. This is where concert and club culture meet — powerful vocals, tight musicianship, and a crowd that knows every word. It’s not a performance at the audience, but with them.
After a charity raffle draw, the live show returns for a final burst of collective joy, followed by closing DJ sets that take the party right through to 1am.
A Weekend That Understands the Scene
What sets this event apart isn’t just the names on the running order — it’s the structure. The organisers clearly understand that Northern Soul is about trust: trust in the DJs, trust in the dancers, and trust that the music will do the rest.
For two days in March, Benidorm Palace becomes more than a venue. It becomes a meeting point for people who still believe in the power of a perfect record, a packed dancefloor, and a simple instruction that never goes out of style:
Dance. Drink. Sing. Enjoy.
And always — keep the faith.
